![]() If there are any findings on the anterior segment or dilated fundus exam that will limit the patient’s visual potential, we typically recommend monofocal IOLs with or without monovision. There are many reasons to avoid MF or even EDOF lenses in patients that have limited visual potential: (1) loss of contrast sensitivity from the IOL, (2) the perceived lack of value of a premium IOL if the patient is paying extra out-of-pocket and not achieving their best potential vision, (3) remove the confusion postoperatively as to the cause of decreased vision-i.e., is it the IOL or some other ocular pathology? In this article we’ll focus on the anterior segment/cornea conditions that can affect the outcomes of premium IOLs, namely ocular surface disease, Salzmann’s nodular degeneration, epithelial basement membrane dystrophy, Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy and irregular astigmatism. To come to that decision, we evaluate the patient from front to back-from the ocular surface to macula-and address any findings with them preoperatively in order to avoid any mistrust or surprises postoperatively. ![]() S ince I started implanting premium IOLs in 2002, I’ve learned when to offer these lenses and when to avoid them. ![]() And we'll say, we want y to be the result of calling square of 5, say. And we'll go ahead and make a new assignment to y. This is just a generic name that I've chosen to refer to any value that you pass in when you call square. And you'll also notice here that the fact that I used a variable named x doesn't have anything to do with this variable named x up here. ![]() That's again an attempt to help you by filling in that stuff. You'll notice that when I put in that initial brace that it put one in for me, kind of filling that out. So I'm going to say the square of x is what happens when you multiply x by itself and you get that result. I'm going to write a very small function that simply squares whatever value is passed in. So that starts with the function keyword and then we can give it whatever name we want. Let's do something a little more complicated. So the result of 3 x 3 is going to be 9 which is just like what we'd expect. And when I run it, when I press the Run Code button down here, I see the results over here in the See It window. And now I want to see the result of that computation, see if I've actually done something that is going to be what I expect. And I'm going to give that a value, As well, that's dependent upon x. Then I'm going to create another variable. The first thing I'm going to do is simply create a variable, name it x, and give it an initial value. So let's start writing some code and playing with it and just sort of seeing what happens. We've done that because we believe that it provides a better environment. This is what we've created for you to help you learn to do your JavaScript programming. Welcome to the Duke Learn to Program environment. Lastly, most programmers use environments like this to make the tasks of programming easier, whether it is CodePen, BlueJ, which we'll introduce when you learn Java in the next course, or. These pages are also set up to be preloaded with images and pseudocode for the problems that you can work on so that you have a good point to get started from. For this course, later we'll look at how to use them in CodePen. Of course, if you want to use them for your Web pages that you make elsewhere, you could import the libraries and use them in any Web page you build. These libraries make it easier to manipulate images without a bunch of nitty-gritty JavaScript knowledge. Instead, they are libraries that we have set up for you so that you can solve interesting problems earlier in your learning. Speaking of SimpleImage and SimplePixel, these are not standard JavaScript libraries. These make it easier to see your output and can also help you debug. We have also set it up so that you can print a variety of things, such as SimpleImages and SimplePixels. This will make it easier to fix syntax errors in your code or to find and fix problems. Okay, so why use rather than just writing your code in CodePen? For one, we have set up the Duke Learn To Program environment to give you more friendly error messages. In fact, if we had finished this code before we hit the run code, you'd see Drew and Robert appear with their dinosaurs. But if you were to finish this code, as we will do soon, the output would show up on the right here. Here, the code is not finished so not much would happen. If you click on this button at the bottom, it will run this code. This is a page for the green screen algorithm, where the box to write code is on the left, is preloaded with the algorithm that we have developed together in a previous video. Here, you can see a screenshot of the web environment for developing JavaScript code. If you want to write JavaScript for a Web page somewhere else, you can always use this environment to develop, your code then copy it into your Web page later. However, for getting you started, we have a slightly more novice friendly environment, which we hope will help you write and debug your code more easily. If you use some other tool to write a Web page, you can generally write JavaScript code in your Web page easily, though the specifics will depend on the tool. In CodePen, you can write JavaScript in the right frame, which we have highlighted here. function setBlack ( pixel ) var img = new SimpleImage ( "skyline. Now that you're learning a bit about JavaScript, you might wonder where you would write it, or how you would run it. ★ Sources: screen capture | camera | audio input | audio output This difference is caused by Wayland, a new desktop technology adopted by Ubuntu most recently and the Snap version is already successful to run on it.īelow's the options your can enable with OBS Studio: Screen recording indicator, if displayed then the screen is being recorded.įor Ubuntu version 20.04 LTS, do the following: $ sudo apt-get install obs-studioįor Ubuntu version 21.04 and above, do the following: $ snap install obs-studio.Status bar, where information about live recording / live streaming displayed.Controls area, where Start / Stop Recording buttons and Settings displayed.Audio Mixer area, the color indicators will move following audio input and output.Sources area, where you add / remove recording input items.Preview area, where you see what being recorded.Usually commercial software or games are produced for sale or to serve a commercial purpose. Invicta is not trying to compete with Rolex, although we have customers who enjoying wearing both brands.Īre Invicta Watches Swiss Made, Made in Japan or China?Īs discussed above, the Invicta watch company was founded in Switzerland over 100 years ago, until the 1980s, they were all Swiss made. A Rolex Submariner will cost you over $10,000, but you can find an Invicta Pro-Diver automatic for under $100. The most well-known example is the Invicta Pro-Diver which looks almost identical to a Rolex Submariner from a distance. Invicta makes homage watches that are inspired by the designs of other major watch brands like Rolex, Omega, etc. Over the years, the Invicta watch brand has been known to collaborate with some of the biggest names and brands in the world including: Jason Taylor, Marvel, DC Comics, Disney, Shaq, NFL, Star Wars, Beavis and Butt-Head, Southpark, and even the US Army and Navy. Invicta's tagline is " Invincible in Detail". Although many watch enthusiasts claim to hate the Invicta brand, the reality is that the brand is like a gateway drug for many collectors to become interested in watches. ![]() Some collectors do not even take the watches out of the box when they arrive. Many Invicta watch collectors proudly own dozens, if not hundreds of Invicta watches. The brand's ability to spawn new models so rapidly, combined with the shop from home with 5 easy payment plans, seems to almost create an addiction amongst fans of the brand. Later, they even started their own home stopping style series. Invicta became huge over the years thanks to countless appearances on TV home shopping channels like ShopNBC, ShopHQ and Evine. Currently based in Hollywood, FL, the brand is now known for popular watch lines such as Pro Diver, Russian Diver, Reserve, Lupah, Bolt, Akula, Speedway, Venom, Subaqua Noma, and more. No matter which option you pick, your data is wrapped in a cocoon of military‑grade AES‑256 encryption – letting you reap the benefits of safely using the passwords stored in your vault across all of your authorized devices. You can either sync via the superfast cloud option, use the super-secure local WiFi sync, or, if you are particularly cautious, you can vigilantly sync manually offline. Sticky Password is the only password manager that lets you choose from three synchronization methods. This makes it extremely difficult for hackers to intercept your data and use it for fraudulent activities. Since password protection is essential across all devices, Sticky Password’s security model accounts for device synchronization by using the same level of encryption used to encrypt the data stored in your vault. PBKDF2 is a principle that cryptographers use to turn a simple set of data, such as a master password, into a much more complicated string of data that is more difficult to hack. The encryption key is produced with the use of the password-based-key-derivation function (PBKDF2) which applies a cryptographic hash to the master password to protect it. It is also worth noting that the security model uses an additional encryption key to protect the master password against unauthorized retrieval or access. Your master password is never stored or transmitted over the internet and is only used locally to encrypt and decrypt your data. Entering both pieces of information ensures that only rightful users can decrypt your data. Devices are authorized using your master password – the only password that can unlock your vault, alongside two-factor authentication – an extra layer of security used to make sure that only the rightful users can log in to your account. The security model gives you the control to grant access to your secure vault on a device by device basis. Master Password & Two-Factor Authentication Originally adopted by the federal government, AES-256 encryption has become the industry standard for data security, so you can rest assured that Sticky Password has you covered with the highest security standards. This simply means that the password manager can run on multiple operating systems and devices whilst providing top-notch AES-256 encryption to protect your data. Sticky Password has been built using client-side application technology. ![]() The Union provides basic energy needs at the expense of Ore RefineryĪnd uses a mobile Salvage Crane for expansion The Empire is extremely dependent on energy and relies on large groups of repair robots for defense. However, I would like to try this new version in Cinema4D as I believe Octane render engine seems to be a faster response option for me. I didn’t add details of it as I just want to emphasise the atmosphere. To compare, the interior design of the diner became quite important to the scene, which I don’t want to. But the details of the building behind became less obvious than my expectation. And I think it is much more better for having symmetric design in a scene to present its solitary. It would be helpful for me to focus on what my interest is.įinally I am satisfied with this composition. In my future project, I might think about purchasing some preset 3D models with texture included in a similar project like this one. It is not easy to get it right and it is not my purpose to create this project. Regarding texturing, I didn’t complete my UV mapping properly. I would like to show the whole atmosphere instead of modelling details to my audience. ![]() Camera position and lens choices are both important for me to tell a story.Īs it is a scene design, I prefer to use wider lens to create the scene. This week I have tried to explore a new angle for my scene. And I felt it is quite common for VFX artists to use preset modelings, as long as they have got their permission and add credits to those artists. As I am not very keen to work on UV texturing, it would be a great help for me to save some time. It is so convenient to add them in scene, as they are all fully modelled and textured for designers to use. I also used some modelling in Cinema4D default content browser, such as the street lamps. The lighting should be dimmed but remained visible for mystery. As it is quite a distance from the main diner to the building behind. Regarding the volume fog, I expected the thickness would be just above to see the building lighting behind. I think it is acceptable as the total number are 250 frames. It is not easy to balance as lowering the voxels size would definitely dragged the computer performance slower.Īt this moment, my renderer takes about 3-4 minutes to render one frame. I will need to try another version with less grain. This is the camera Angle design for this scene, but seems too noisy for this render. I believe it is crucial for designers to be a T-shape person which means their skills involved board knowledge, but at the same time they specialise deeply in one profession. Therefore, in term04, I did not hone my motion skills, and just try to push my own boundary.Īfter my graduation, I would love to seek for job opportunity in motion design industry, but I still satisfied for the fruitful result in my whole master degree programme. Instead of just focusing on motion, it is a precious chance for me to try something I am not familiar about.Ĭreating a scene design is not my type of work I used to work on, but sometimes when I browsed others artwork, I always wonder how did they do that. However, my goal to achieve a master degree here, is to explore more possibilities. And of course I would love to continue to work in this profession. In my previous experience, I was a motion graphic designer in Hong Kong. Compare to what I want myself continue in my career path, I would like to try out something in my own imagination. I didn’t render the props layer on the ground in the final version output, as it caused some flickering in video that I cannot fixed in my final stage of submission.Įven I understand that this project in term 04 is quite important for us to present our skills in near future job seeking. Any thoughts, or maybe reasons why I shouldn't? Thanks for the list, it definitely of what kind of things might be worth exploring eventually.Īlso, slightly unrelated, but I was thinking about using bass' 6502-like syntax for the SPC's disassembly (once I get to that). I'm unsure how zsnes' netplay compares, haven't used it in a very long time. That being said, Mesen's netplay isn't the greatest, but it works nicely at low pings & should never desync (unless there are bugs in the emulation core). Netplay is definitely on my list - it should only take a little bit of time to port over Mesen's netplay since the overall architecture of both emulators is pretty identical. Overclocking-wise, is the general idea to add ppu scanlines and slow down the APU's timers to compensate for it? Just adding scanlines without compensating would increase the music's tempo, I think? That being said, I'm not a guru when it comes to optimization, and usually try to strike a balance between code readability/maintenance and performance, too, so unsure how far I'll get on that front. I do want to try to balance performance and accuracy as much as I possibly can, especially considering the overhead the debugger tools tend to have when they're opened.
